Good Morrow! That big yellow object in the sky was identified last week. Apparently it's called the sun. Who knew! Somehow, lord knows how, it's still Sunny here! It's witchcraft, I tells ya! The Saving Grace...It's the only save related pun I could think of... We've had a busy week and it looks like next week could be even busier! That's more than likely a good thing though. But I'm here to talk about this week, I'll let Adrian deal with that future stuff (or present by then...) This week, I've been working on getting the saving in the darts app. There's various modes that need to have some degree of saving, be that stats or progress. We've done save scripts for Reprieve and already some for the Darts app itself, so they're something of a known quantity at this stage. I'm not expecting any massive problems with them but you never know... I've also been doing some bug fixing as I go along. Tournament mode had a fairly big problem when it came to loading a saved game. If you loaded a saved game, then quit and went into tournament mode again and selected a new tournament, the game would keep the loaded data rather than start a new game. That was obviously quite a big problem, so I had thought of a simple solution and then discarded it and went with something more complicated... ...I'm an idiot, I'm well aware of it at this stage. The more complicated method was taking about an hour or so before I finally gave up and just went with the easy fix (which would definitely work) and it took about 15 minutes to do. I blame being tired (although I'd probably have done that anyway). But at least it's fixed and the problem is sorted. GTAV!!Seeing as it's the 20th anniversary of Father Ted's first episode, I went with that picture But, yeah GTAV came out last week on PC and it's awesome. I had it on PS3, so the gap between the PC graphics and that has been massive (plus it runs at a glorious 60fps). Really enjoyed what I've played of it so far, trying to get up to the bit with where Trevor comes into the game. Such a good GTA character. I've played about 8 hours of the game so far (most of that has been spent doing the usual GTA stuff and not missions) Haven't played much online on it though, only a few hours I think. Much prefer the single player in the game. Feels infinitely more fun to me but different strokes and all that jazz I've also played some Titan Souls which has been brilliant, really enjoyable and, of course, difficult. Think I've gotten past about 4 or 5 bosses so far but died a hell of a lot. That'll do me for todays blog. I'll be back with the Musings on Sunday with more updates on this "sun" things that we've discovered, so be sure to check that out and, of course, Screenshot Saturday on Saturday which we post on Twitter and Facebook, so be sure to check that out as well.
In the meantime, enjoy your day/week! It's my turn for the blogs for this week. Lots to do this week, so lets get right into it! Summer-ish!It's been the nicest week of the year so far here in Ireland. Some really nice weather for a change. Huzzah! On the downside, it's making it extremely warm to do work inside. But sure, we may as well enjoy our one week Summer...even if it is a couple of months early. So far this week, I've been doing work on the credits for the app. Just a small screen which will take you to this website if you press our name and one for our SFX man and general Audio wizard, Tom Campbell's Soundcloud. So that means that the settings screen is now completely done now that that's in. The saving for the settings is now working too, so any settings saved should remain when the app is re-opened. I've also begun work on one of the other modes in the app called Finishing Touch. This mode gives you a random number between 40 and 170 and then gives you hints on how to checkout from there. That mode isn't particularly complicated from a programming standpoint, so it should be finished by tomorrow, I think (Famous last words). After that's finished, I'll move onto the next mode. We're getting there! More SkyrimAs I mentioned last time out, I've finally restarted Skyrim, actually quite enjoying it again which is nice. I had to remove the ENB I had to installed due to the Depth of Field driving me mad (I play in 3rd Person Camera). The game still looks lovely, granted I've modded it like mental but for a 4 year old game, it looks awesome. The DeclineI've just discovered this, if you've got a spare 20 minutes, give it a listen. It's a symphonic version of NoFX's song "The Decline". It's absolutely fantastic So that's my lot for this week, I'll be back with Sunday Musings at the weekend. Until then, enjoy the rest of the week!
