Time for yet another blog from me. Think this might be a short enough one due to working on a secret project which means not working 100% on the main game As you might have read Sunday Musings last week, I had a really busy week. Managed to get through a pretty big list of jobs which was good. I mentioned I was working on this previously but I finally managed to get the Windworm or Windsnake last week, following his path in a satisfactory manner and then colliding with Evelyn properly after a series of problems on that front. Surprising how much trouble that actually caused but it's working now, thankfully. This week could turn out somewhat similar to last week, except it's on a different project which I can't really say much about at present. It's started off well enough and hopefully it continues in that fashion. Fingers Crossed! In terms of the main game, we're planning to do some more white boxing the week to complete the Air Temple which will mean we're progressing nicely! I've also created a ground Slam move for Evelyn which is available after completing a double jump. Pushing the right stick down while in mid-air causes here to slam down on the ground. At the moment, the faster falling to the ground is in but there's no animations as of yet or damage to any enemies. It's been mainly used for the seals at certain doors. I'm also hoping to get the attacks reacting to hitting walls and other surfaces working with particles this week. I've had a short look at it but will give it a proper look at some stage. More on that in Sunday Musings, I suppose. Obligatory TF2 Mention Returns...It's been another week of not playing much in the games department, due to being busy. We did play some TF2 on Monday, I think, which was pretty decent. It was one of those sessions where I don't think we won many games but it was fun nonetheless. I know the news came a while ago now but it's somewhat related to TF2, mainly because it has payload (the best TF2 mode). Really looking forward to Overwatch, looks like It could be massive amounts of fun and according to people who've played it, it actually is loads of fun. Won't be out for a good while though, I'd imagine. The cinematic on it's own is bloody awesome Quick Skyrim update on the Modding/restarting or Continuing...I haven't played a second of it. I am a disgrace. That is all Huh......I actually wrote more than I thought I'd write. Back to work for me but we'll be back on Sunday as usual with the Musings
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good afternoon! I've been meaning to write this blog for the past hour or so and keep forgetting that I have the page open. Getting distracted by trying to get something working, as you do. It's the 5th of November which can mean only one thing...V for Vendetta will be on TV somewhere. Not that I'm complaining, of course. With that title, I'm probably overselling the amount of V's in this blog... More Error than Trial, if that's possible... So this week has been a slightly trial and error week in terms of what I'm doing. Adrian mentioned in last week's Musings that I was working on an enemy that works on path finding rather than what we've got so far. The enemy is sort of like the Magma Worm in Risk of Rain but...erm...not at all like it at the same time. What I'm getting at is, it's a worm. That's probably where the similarities stop. Anywho, I'm going through the different methods of trying to get it working. Changing to a hinge joint method now. Might work, we'll have to see. Should know by the end of the day, I reckon. I also got the lantern, which spawns the fire archers in the scene, to swing from a chain when it is hit by a character or attack. It's a little thing but it makes it look quite nice. It's one of those things that if it's missing it's not a big deal but it weirdly gives the world life, if it's in the game. As usual, the lantern moving with the attacks was not without it's problems. I somehow managed to miss the fact that I didn't change where the OnTriggerEnter was being called from and spent an age trying to figure out why the lantern wouldn't swing. Thankfully I managed to see that mistake this morning during our morning meeting. It's not all dog gifs and "Coffeh", you know! News Just in: No Mention of TF2...That one doesn't count Last night I played some more of The Bridge. Apparently, being tired while playing is a good strategy for me. When I tried during the day, I couldn't solve a thing! I flew through the levels last night. It really is a damn good game and the art style is gorgeous as well. I also realised after I'd finished playing that it messes with your brain after lengthy playing. I kept expecting my browser to turn like the game world. I also bought the Humble Indie Bundle 13 last week. Some new games were added to it this week, so will probably give one or two of them a bash this week. Some good looking games in there, really interested in seeing what Shadowrun Returns is like. It's definitely worth a look. Hell, Risk of Rain 4 pack is worth it on it's own! In somewhat game related and completely not related news, Youtube has now got 60FPS videos. Game videos look extremely nice, giving an accurate representation of how the game looks. I was having trouble with 1080p with 60FPS on my PC. Thankfully someone posted a fix for Chrome. You just have to turn off "Use Hardware Acceleration where available" under advanced settings. Just in case someone is having a similar issue. As usual... ...we shall be back with Sunday Musings at some stage on Sunday (my turn this week), so give that a gander. We'll also be doing the usual Screenshot Saturday and what not, so give that a look too
Enjoy the rest your day and the rest of the week! |
