Sunday Musings time! Another week streaks by like some sort of streaky thing...a rasher. Yes, that'll do This week we've been making some nice progress on Reprieve and things are starting to come together nicely. Unfortunately though, I wasn't working on Reprieve this week as I had other work that needed to be done, the new website to be specific. For the past while (some 6 months) we've had our website behind an "under construction" banner and while I have been working on it whenever I get a chance, it's not really been a priority. Last week I decided to actually get the thing up and running as soon as possible. I had been working nearly from scratch to get the site looking somewhat like this one, which is one of the main reasons for the slow progress but now we've switched to a template which I'm now changing to suit what we want. As I said earlier in the week on my blog, it should be finished soon. Hopefully by Adrian's blogs next week. I hope Adrian's been hard at work making the air temple look all snazzy and lovely. It's coming along very nicely, we've only 2 levels left in to be made in this section of the game. Feels like we're getting onto the home stretch which is a nice feeling. The screenshot this week was one of the Air Temple levels. He also did some work on the Guardian for the Air Temple. He's nearly modelled out, and looking very nice. Then it's onto animations, unwrapping, texturing and all that lark. Sometimes I'm glad I'm not doing the art... Music time! Adrian's gone for "Unity" by TheFatRat which I think I've heard him play when he's playing league...aka all the time I've gone for "Megitsune" by BabyMetal which I know for a fact is drilled into Adrian's brain at this stage. I make no apologies! Adrian's: TheFatRat - UnityDan's: BabyMetal - MegitsuneThat's me done for this week's blogs. Adrian is on duty next week.
Until then, enjoy your weekend! Hey guys! We have been busy this week with Reprieve and the air temple. We are nearly all the way through blocking it out with only 4 scene's left to do. I have been busy this week in unity creating levels. I have pieced together about 6 levels at this stage for the air temple and set up all the lighting for them as well. I think I have hit a good mix of cold and dark without going hey look a black screen that means atmosphere. I still have yet to put in the ice on the higher levels and the cold air effects but they will be coming into the game at the end of next week. Apart from that I designed up some extra things such as flags and decorations that will fill the levels and give it that lived in feel. The entrance scene was the screen shot saturday this week. Dan did the Quetzalcoatl enemy this included his attacks that needed to be programmed separate from most enemy attacks as it is slightly unique. Think pikachu standard special in smash brothers and that is the way it acts giving the player a nasty little shock. The quetz hovers over head at all times raining lightning pain down on his enemies so the player must dodge the assault while clearing the skies above. Dan also has coded in the basics for another air temple enemy this dude is sorta like a mini boss and will be a tougher enemy to defeat. He will guard the 2 towers by standing on the bridge and blocking the players way. He will carry a large shield and throw spears and the player must use tactics to over come this enemy. He is currently busy back working on our other website that should eventually take over from this one and be a more permament URL. Good luck sir I say Good luck to you. The beat just dropped!I will let Dan lead the musical part of the blog with his track of the week Grazilla Schazad with " Look at me" this is some hard core house music. I will go with something that matches my title for the blog this week with Bette Midler with wind beneath my blog title. Now that was a lovely blog to read on a Sunday. I bet you all are like man i could read another one of those. But sadly the doctor recommends 1 per week. Im sorry.
Until then Have fun!!! |
