Tis Sunday Musings time yet again. It's been a busy week this week again with lots getting done
All The Work!
This week I've been doing a lot of work on Save scripts and some of the other modes, including doing some bug fixing which is always fun.
I've been working toward getting all the modes that require saving to be able to save the relevant information that they need. So far, I've got most of the modes saving properly and then loading correctly. There was a small bug during the week which meant making any changes to what needed to be added to the save game manager caused an error. Not a particularly bad error but an error nonetheless. Thankfully, I managed to fix this fairly sharpish and everything seems to be working perfectly again. As I mentioned in my blog, I spent far more time fixing a Tournament mode bug than I should have. Especially as I figured out how to fix it immediately but then decided to go for a needlessly complex solution. In the end, I just made the game reload the scene and then skip the opening animation. Problem sorted! As some of you may have seen, if you follow us on Twitter, I was testing sharing to Twitter this week. Everything was working nicely until I updated my phone which then started causing everything to crash which is obviously not a good thing. After some searching, I found that Lollipop isn't yet supported for the plugin we're using and that's what the issue is. I found a work around by telling the app to look at the OS of the device and to turn off social media sharing if it's Android 5. It'll do for the moment until Android 5 is supported. Hopefully it'll be soon. Adrian was hard at work finishing off the fantasy weapon pack that we're making. The plan is to submit it to the Unity Asset Store sometime soon. He spent this week UV'ing and hand texturing the shields which ended up looking awesome, as per usual. They were this weeks Screenshot Saturday...
We also got to work on a showcase scene for the shields, to make them look as nice as possible for when they're submitted.
Me Sounds!!
Time for our musics of the week! Adrian's gone for Tape Five's "Bad Boy Good Man". He likes his swing, does Adrian...
I've gone for "Aerials" by System of a Down this week. Adrian's: Tape Five - Bad Boy Good ManDan's: System of a Down - Aerials
That's our lot this week. Adrian will be on blog duty next week, so we'll see you then
Enjoy your Sunday! Hey guys! Welcome to another Sunday Musings. Glad you could make it! Shall we get started then shall we ? This week was eventful in so many ways, we are still working hard on the Dart App that is nearing its completion in a few weeks and things are hitting high gear for Dan. He has been working on new modes for the darts app such as Single/Doubles/Triples this mode is basically and accuracy training mode. This lets the player select 5 segments of the dart board to train their accuracy on. We have the dart board showing the segments that are selected and a cool zoom feature for the bull and outer bull ring. The scores then get added at the bottom of the screen in a Table that calculates the hit percentage in real time. We hope this will help you all get better at hitting them pesky blind spots in your dart matches! Below is a few images of this mode in action! Then Dan got to work on another new mode called Daily Trainer! This mode gives players a list of 5 challenges to complete daily to gain experience and level up. Daily trainer will work of the system clock and has already been protected from people just changing the time on the device to get more challenges for that day. The challenges are a huge range of choices. Below is a few examples:
Enough of Dan my turn now! I have been back in the weapon pack and finishing up the pack with the maces. All maces are now complete with textures and materials all set up for unity 5. All that is left is to do the shields. Of which there will be 5. This week's Screen shot Saturday was the mace's they are a brutal fighting weapon to bash even the biggest of Orc's skulls in with. The textures are 100% hand panted and have a fantasy toon style to fit mobile games and fantasy fighting/questing games. Below is an example of the texture sheet! They dont make them like they use toMusic time and Dan will go first with his choice of " Poison Heart" by the Ramones. Dan says yeah to this song all the time. My turn with " Big Yellow Taxi" by Counting Crows. This song always come to my mind when it is hot and sunny out. That is it for this week. I am currently having a do nothing weekend so might as well continue the act of doing nothing. Have fun peep's!
