Hey guys and gal's! Yeah as the title says things are coming together for us now as we have a few things happen this week that has made us progress as a company! Celebrate!
Firstly we have our first asset on the asset store. The weapon pack has finally been released and is currently available on the Unity Asset store. It is the pack you watched grow over the last few blogs and contains a ton of weapons for any Dev to use in the projects they are working on.
A demo can be played here on site to look at the weapons your self. Just Click
>>>>>>>>>>HERE<<<<<<<<<<<< Sorry but unity still might have that chrome issue XD so use another browser. Apart from that reprieve is going from strength to strength as we are no prepping for something that we are excited for but will announce in the near future!! I have been making the early scene as nice as I can with textures and lighting. I have created emissive maps for things like windows. Sadly I had to go to deal with some medical issues during the week and am a little Bee-hind..... you will see why i said it that way in a minute ..... Unitl then enjoy the ScreenShotSaturday.
While I was dying Dan was busy creating an awesome bee hive and bee script! The Bees spawn at a fast enough rate and buzz around the hive. The hive should be the players main focus to destroy as bees are a bit kamikaze, as they dive right at the player and explode on impact with anything now.
This is a major change from the original design where they would follow the player and swoop down dealing damage. This was too annoying to play against and would slow the action down a ton as the player was just being followed by a pest. It is good never to just stick with the first iteration of anything if you have a doubt in your design its best to work it out and give the player the best experience rather then the easy and fastest option. Dan also working on the player script making it super clean and flexible as the last time he was in there was mainly for testing the mechanics and making it fast and cheap to do things. It created a bit of a mess that way as the inspector in unity was HUGE. But this is all fixed now and made super sleek and sexy running better and easier to add permanent features if needs be. Bibbidy Bobbidy Buu
Time for them cool tunes I shall let my partner in crime go first ! Dan has chosen the them song of Kung Fury ..... the second Hoff song from Dan.... Dan is hot for the Hoff
I am going for a game sound track performed by the Super Guitar Brothers. Its the full Sonic sound track.
Well with the tunes done we are done! Next week I hope to finish the roof Scene and start on Evelyn's New animation Set.
It's Sunday, so it's time for us sum up our week, make a terrible title pun and other such shenanigans...
Odds and Evens
This week I've been jumping between the darts app and Reprieve like some sort of jumping thing...a rabbit, I suppose. Or a Kangaroo...
So, I spent some time fixing some small issues with certain modes in the Darts App. Most of them have been small little things which didn't take much time to fix. One such small fix was that when the player won a leg, the AI wouldn't know how to proceed which I discovered was because I'd written that part of the code like:
if(legsWon + legsWonCPU %2==0)
Rather than:
if((legsWon + legsWonCPU) %2==0)
Basically, it seemed to be only checking if the legsWonCPU was even rather than the combination of legsWon and legsWonCPU. Stupid mistake but thankfully, it's fixed now
I've also been working on the Bee Enemy in Reprieve. He's a pretty simple enemy. He circles around a hive until Evelyn comes into his line of vision and then he attacks using his stinger. He dies on stinging or collision with the ground. He's just a training enemy to get you ready for the harder enemies.
Adrian's been mucho busy this week with Reprieve. He's spent the past week re-rigging Evelyn in preparation for giving her some new animations, as you can see above in this week's Screenshot Saturday. Extremely tedious looking work but he soldiered on through
The rig moves awesome with everything moving exactly as you'd expect in a human character. We're really looking forward to seeing what the new animations are going to look like in game when they're done. He also gave Evelyn new hands which now actually have fingers! Huzzah! So now she can grab things and what not. And finally, he did some sterling research on Music for the game, with tons of playlists for each part of the game which we'll use to try and convey the type of music that we want in terms of tempo and atmosphere The, The, The...
This week Adrian's gone for Acicii's "Wake Me Up", presumably before you go-go but maybe after...
I've gone for Weezer's Cover of The Band's "The Weight". I feel I've wrote "The" far too many times in that sentence Adrian's: Avicii - Wake Me UpDan's: Weezer - The Weight
That'll do us for Sunday Musings this week. Adrian is on blogging duties next week, so be sure to give them a read.
Until then enjoy the rest of your weekend! |
