'Tis Sunday Musings time. Due to Adrian still being in a state of Internet-related limbo, I'm having to do my best Adrian impression. Don't worry I've been practicing all week. So with that... More Rigs than a LAN party...So this week, Adrian rigged Sam, who is Evelyn's best friend in the game. This was our Screenshot Saturday this week. Have a gander... The first boss, the Salamander, is almost ready to be implemented into the game with Adrian doing some animation work on him during the week. Lots of unwrapping to be done between now and Christmas. Things on the art side of the game are moving along nicely at the moment. Dan on the other hand is still working on the super secret thing. Having to redo some of what was done previously, which we think will make things better and more readable. This week has been mostly about meetings though. All in the name of progress, I might add. Super Smash Bros. ReviewThis week Adrian got Super Smash Bros for his wii-u and thanks to the magic of SMS, I can relay this review... The Game is a major graphical improvement on the 3DS Version, playing at a smooth 60 FPS and has a stunningly wide range of world styles. The event system is a great way to challenge players and gives players the chance to try characters that they would not normally try. The new party mode, based loosely off Mario Party, is surprisingly fun and addictive as when players bump into each other, it sparks a random event that could be anything from a home run contest to a frantic coin battle. Classic mode returns with a twist where players move the character they choose at the start around a board that represents the difficulty level by changing the environment style. Master Core returns from the 3DS and is the same battle as before. This feels like a more fleshed out version of the 3DS version, making that version feel like a glorified demo. I have yet to buy an amiibo but will be grabbing one as soon as possible. Online is a no go for me yet. Our Music this WeekAdrian has chosen yet another apt song. This week he's gone for "Broken" by The Gorillaz and Dan's gone for Finch's "What it is to Burn" Adrian's: Gorillaz - BrokenDan's: Finch - What it is to Burn[/Adrian Inner Monologue]So there you have it. We're done for another Sunday Musings. I'll be back with a blog during the week and then Sunday Musings next week. Hopefully Adrian can get his Coffee/Time machine up to 88mph next week.
Have a good weekend! It's time for Sunday Musings. It's been as busy as usual for us this week with Adrian modelling, rigging, testing new shaders and going back in time to pre-1990's Ireland and I've working on super top secret stuff that I don't even know about... No Internet and No Spotify make Adrian Something, Something... This week Adrian completed his work on the first main boss in the game, a giant Salamander made of fire. The boss has now been rigged awesomely (which according to Google Chrome is a word...won't argue), he moves really, really well. He also tested out a shader for the fire on the boss' back to create the flame effect on the character. Adrian also did some background decoration for the Fire Temple which was our Screenshot Saturday this week: As you can see there's a few different items to go into the temple. In this screenshot we've got items like columns (broken and non-broken), a grind wheel, a coal pit and a chain variant. We've also got a cart in the mix there which is being used in the Air Temple which was mentioned in last weeks musings (last week's TF2 reference, if you will). On Friday, Adrian went back to a time where the Internet did not exist, last reports had him gone slightly insane (or more insane, if you will) without spotify and other such amenities. Think of the episode of the Simpsons where Homer loses his mind without Beer and TV and your about halfway there... As I mentioned in my blog this week, I've been quite busy making things work on another project that we're working on. Can't say much about it as of yet though but the it's progressing nicely so far (although as I found out yesterday it's still quite buggy in it's currently basic form). I also added a ground slam to Evelyn's list of moves this week. It's currently only being used for opening doors with seals but in the future it'll be added to her list of attacks. Perhaps next week when I've more of a chance to work on it. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaall by Mysellllllf..." Time for the music. Adrian text me his choice this week and has gone for the quite apt "All by Myself" by Celine Dion. I can just imagine him singing that while rocking back and forth alone in his room. I've gone for "Angry Days" by Joey Cape & Jon Snodgrass which is technically another Lagwagon song but it's acoustic so...erm...yeah Dan's: Joey Cape & Jon Snodgrass - Angry DaysAdrian's: Celine Dion - All By Myself...Aaaaaand End That's it for this week's musings. Not quite sure yet what the format is for next week's blogs. Adrian may not be back in modern times by then which means I may do another week or he may literally phone it in...who knows
Anywho, enjoy the rest of your weekend. |
