So we've changed the name of Soundtrack Sunday, seeing as it's mostly meandering musings on the week gone by, so I give you Sunday Musings... It's been a week of post DubLudo fixing for us. Taking people's feedback on the game, as well as fixing the bugs we noted from people playing. That's the benefit of DubLudo, bugs we possibly would have otherwise missed. Adrian's been an AFK n00b for 2 days this week. He's been on a business course, that's right Adrian Masterson on a business course. Lock away your abaci, he's doing all the calculations! We've also now got a lovely contextual GUI in the new game which will help people with the controls a bit more, specifically the powers which were proving difficult for people to remember...and for me to explain or remember. So now we've a handy little d-pad in the corner to help out everyone. Now onto the music, Adrian's gone with "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats and I hate him for it. It'll be stuck in my head for the next few days. I've gone with Joey Ramone's version of "What a Wonderful World" because well, it's a nice-ish day or as close as we're going to get in Ireland. Enjoy All the Musics Adrian's: Men Without Hats - The Safety DanceDan's: Joey Ramone - What a Wondeful WorldAdrian's Opening MonologueHello our gorgeous and Burning Bright fans, e3 has come and gone like the winter of our discontent. We are left in the wake of some amazing trailers this year but sadly we can only pick 3...each. So without further ado, ice cream sandwich. Dan's Opening MonologueYou see, this is what I've to put up with. I'll probably end up with post traumatic stress disorder at some point. He's currently watching me type this...Always watching. So with that it's best to start our top 3's, otherwise I might be made program in something like steam shotguns in our game... The Top ThreeAdrian's no.3 - Captain ToadCaptain Toad is a great new puzzler from Nintendo where the player takes control of Captain Toad, a secondary character from The Galaxy series. Using the Wii U control pad, players explore the levels using the touch screen to manipulate the world to solve puzzles in order to get the illustrious star at the end. One to keep your eye on. Dan's no.3 - No Man's SkyThis is the upcoming sci-fi game from Hello Games which is coming out on PS4 which features a procedurally generated open world. My mind was blown by this, the sheer scale of it for such a small team and to top it all off it looks absolutely amazing. Adrian's numero dos - BloodBorneFrom From Software comes a new IP, Bloodborne that is keeping the dark twister style of the Dark and Demon Souls franchises. As a fan of them two series, I am greatly looking forward to this new series. Now drool at this cinematic. Dan's numero dos - Uncharted 4According to Mr Masterson this is "pre-rendered thrash", but considering what The Order 1887 looks like, it could well be close to this. If there's one series from the last generation that I was looking forward to coming to next-gen, it's Uncharted. Just an amazing series. Adrian's big 1 - The Legend of Zelda: Wii UIt's a beautiful addition to the Zelda series, that uses the Windwaker cartoony style mixed with the Twilight Princess style. A total surprise to any Nintendo fan as no-one was expecting a new Zelda title, especially one with scope of Skyrim. This is totally the reason why I'm going to get a Wii U asap. whinnnnnnnnnnnkyfache Dan's big 1 - Magicka 2For me this was the biggest surprise of all the big e3 conferences. When I saw Paradox Interactive I was hoping it was Magicka and then when I saw the mage, I almost screamed like a girl or Ned Flanders upon finding those purple drapes. I don't think I can accurately put into words how much I love Magicka. I mean, look at that trailer, it's bloody hilarious. It's probably one of the finest Co-Op experieces I've had as a gamer, probably one of the best multiplayer games in general. Both me and Adrian used to play this regularly on Burn Bright Games' game night, between him doing the Crash to Desktop spell (and make me hate him slightly more each time) to me accidentally on purpose electrocuting his character, the original literally had me in tears of laughter at times and that's without even mentioning the hilarious film and TV references throughout the game. No doubt, we'll be cracking this out once it's released on PC and the tears of laughter will no doubt happen again. Jerry's Final ThoughtIt was a great year at e3 this year, some surprise games and some updates on some old favourites. Why don't you tell us your favourites either here in the comments section below or on our facebook and twitter accounts. We'd love your opinions! |
