Let the meandering tale of the past week commence! A 15 minute Video about Cheese? The most important piece of knowledge that slapped me this week was the fact that there are videos on youtube about cheese that are 15 minutes long. Adrian got linked to it (which of course meant I was linked to it by him) on Wednesday and the week has been downhill from there. Nothing can top that, surely? Talking about cheese breaking for 15 mins? What a time to be alive! Another week passes at lightspeed it seems. The time certainly seems to be flying. So what have we been doing with ourselves this week? Good question. Adrian's been texturing one of the opening scenes in the game which was the subject of a previous Screenshot Saturday and also the subject of this weeks Screenshot Saturday...Minus the furniture, of course. He's also unwrapped the kitchen in preparation for texturing, made new fireball projectiles for lava and finally a breakable crystal. He also did some animation fixes on the demon boss we showed off last week after we found some clicks in them. And on top of that he's doing some sprite work today. He's been as busy as a busy thingamajig.but it's all coming along nicely. Not my best simile, I know. I actually had to check what I actually did this week beyond the demon boss battle which was mostly animation implementation and I'm still working on that as I type (not at the same time as I actually type. Now that would be impressive). So apart from that, I fixed the Save Game/Load Game, I also created a sloped lift for a later section in the fire temple. I also made certain sections run on Machines rather than automatically. Should make things interesting. And now I'm trying to get a ring puzzle working which is basically done, just needs some more parameters to make it an actual puzzle. I also had to make the new sections of the game work with the rest of the game, so you can actually progress which brings me nicely onto what we also did.... "The Box! The Box!"Yes, we did our favourite thing in the whole wide world this week. White-Boxing. The whole fire temple section of the game is now built in white-box form. Lots of testing, moving things and testing them again. After several playthroughs went a bit wrong (i.e. going from level 1 to 13 and skipping all in between), we managed to get everything flowing rather nicely. There are no enemies in the game as yet, having removed the previous ones to change spawners and what not but the game is working nicely so far in terms of pacing and length. Right around what we're hoping for. DubLudo Time Again! To say I've been looking forward to one of these is an understatement and a half. Adrian will atest to me checking quite often if one was on the horizon and low and behold we have one coming this week. Looking forward to seeing what's happening with everyones games and of course getting to chat to some mates. We'll be bringing our game, as well as some others if they've progressed enough! "I had a Voice Like a Moose Farting in the Fog!"Music time! So this week has been somewhat of a novelty in that I actually knew what my song would be this week on around Wednesday or Thursday, I usually just pick them on Sunday Morning while half asleep. I've gone with Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova's "Falling Slowly" from the film "Once". Nice easy listening...for a change. Adrian's gone for Imagine Dragons' "On Top of the World". Damn good song, usually I'd make some sort of mocking comment. Can't now, seeing as I like it. Boo-urns Dan's: Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova - Falling SlowlyAdrian's: Imagine Dragons - On Top of the World"If you Love Something Let it go..."...Not very good advice if you're holding something breakable. Although if you're holding a Super Ball or Power Ball (those rubbery balls you could get from toy machines) then it's relatively sound advice, I think. They clearly didn't think it through though
And on that, I'll leave it there. Adrian should, SHOULD be doing a blog this week at some stage, so watch out for that goodness. Then we've got Screenshot Saturday and Sunday Musings again so be sure to keep an eye on the site. Plus, We might have some shmexy DubLudo pics at some stage too. I've been told there'll be an Adrian attached to a beard, definite reason to check in. If you've got a spare minute, click on the icons below to go to our Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or Youtube. Give us a proverbial wave, come say Hello or give us a like/follow/+1/subscribe! See you all next week! Well hello again! Welcome back for another Sunday musings. Get comfy gather the family around and I shall tell you a tale so amazing.... so splendiferious you will explode into tiny particles and re assemble as a new being filled with wisdom and happiness that this post will bring . Lets get started ! So this week has been eventful for many reasons as the title announced sky is the limit. Yes it sure is. As Adrian has been busy using blender to create sky boxes to make the world seem more and more alive. Sky boxes are what dictate the lighting to outside scenes and where the main source of light is coming from. Below is an example of one of the skies. Brings a tear to the eye. On top of this Adrian has been busy building more scenes out including the main Character Evelynn's house. Which is now completely modelled inside and out with back garden and ready for a dab of colour. Dan has been Über productive not only implement some cut scene camera stuff. We have it in a important part of the first temple where we get a real cool dramatic shot of a set piece and some cool event that happens. Danny has also been very busy making the machines that run things in the temple actually work. Think of one of them old fashioned cars that have a hand crank and when you get it spinning enough it kicks into life. A mystery guest has appeared! For anyone following our twitter you may have noticed a late night meeting but what could this mean ? Well for now I will keep it under wraps but I can say it is for an upcoming Android IOS game and to be excited ! Things are coming together on this project at the minute but we will be showing some stuff on this as well in the up coming weeks ! The unce unce unce unce unce bit!Awwwwww yeah its time for our grooves of the week. The tunage we have been listening to while working away like busy little beavers. Danny Dan Dan has selected A Bruce Sprinsteen number. With the song Wrecking ball Adrian has gone for something more game related this week and has been relistening to the amazing bastion sound track. His pick of the week is Setting sail, coming home by Darren Korb Last wordsAnother great exciting week doing what we are extremely passionate about. We hope you all have a great week and always have fun in everything you do.
