Another weekend, another Sunday Musings!
I've realised something, if I don't put a heading on things, I can put whatever random picture I want as the main picture (not that it's stopped me in the past, of course). So, enjoy!
It's been a week of white-boxing and concepting for us, mostly. But before we get on to that... ...this week I've been getting the Air Temple playable, which has been quite a task, surprisingly. It mostly meant re-arranging things that were the wrong scale for the jumping puzzle (we have a bit of tendency to that when we're white-boxing) and of course, getting some of the other puzzles working. The wind-worm was part of one such puzzle. When I last worked on the wind-worm, it worked pretty well both in terms of movement and picking up Evelyn when she was near enough to him but somehow it managed to stop working. I had to do a workaround that didn't feel the most optimised but at least it works how it should. The wind-worm now picks up Evelyn and Certain other objects. I also started work on getting the re-worked climb to be playable but that's quite a way away from being completed
Adrian spent his week texturing the first level of the Fire Temple, which you can see above. It's looking nice so far! The next levels should come together nicely over the next few weeks. Huzzah!
We've started designed the start of the next Temple which hopefully will be fun to play...it's one of those types of Temples that can be a bit awkward to make fun, so hopefully we achieve that We've also been concepting some enemies for the next temple and the run up to said temple. Really looking forward to working on these ones. They're going to be really challenging to play against! And finally, we've begun working on a mobile game we talked about some time ago, but rather than complete it, we're going for a complete re-design, changing the graphical style completely. More on that over the next couple of weeks, I'm sure.
Adrian's: John Mayer - Your Body Is A WonderlandDan's: BabyMetal - Awadama Fever
And so ends another Sunday Musings. Adrian's back at the proverbial helm next week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Good Sunday Friends ! Another week even more progress has been made and some more distraction have made an appearance. Yes the 2015 worlds have started and myself and Dan are watching most of the matches and loving it. For anyone who has not heard of the worlds its the world cup for League of Legends, the pro teams are playing on a completely different level to either me or Dan and we just end up saying "wait...........o ok" when some awesome plays are made.
But enough about them distraction back to the work that we did this week. I will start with my self and what I got up to. Well for me its a bit boring really its mostly texture work I am going through levels. I have been going through the level's systematically fixing up any wondering Uv's that are bit off.
That's What the Screen shot Saturday was of this week. I think things are looking good now finally. I am using the same techniques that I used for ourWeapon Pack that is on sale on the asset store now! More packs to come in the future !!
I also am setting up for the yearly taxes and my god this is the most boring part of owning a business. Its getting all our records in order and bla bla bla :D lets face it no one is here to read about taxes but I must tell you about it cause it is taking up time.
Me and Dan did up some of the next temples entrance and are now thinking about game design and enemy design. We are trying to figure out how to make a water temple fun. This ...... may be a struggle as it is widely know water temples usually suck in games. So coming up with unique ways of exploring, puzzles and combat is our job over the coming weeks. Speaking off Dan he has been split between 2 projects this week. With Reprieve he has been working on the Air temple making that playable as white boxes and refining the roughed out game play that we mocked up. Making it all flow and feel good is vital and that's what Dan is really up to he is doing them fine tweaks of moving platforms slightly to the left or right making the feel of jumps challenging but can be done. A good mix of hard platforming and that feeling of yeah I am awesome at moving around this game is what we are aiming for. Dan has also been busy putting a clients work (Dart App) up on the store as we got asked to put it up Asap. So Dan has had some very late nights making this a reality and it is on the Android store at the minute and coming to the Ios Store front in the next while. So as you can see we have been busy all week but all over the shop in terms of focus hopefully next week we can focus better and get more done as we are gonna try and enter a small crunch time for Reprieve. Diddly doo doo deeeeeeeeee!
It is time for music and Dan will lead the way with his choice of "When they roam" Joey Cape
My choice is Chaos Chaos with "Do you feel it"
That's the musings done for another week!
Dan is in the captain seat next week! Until Then Have Fun!!! |
