And so a few days have passed and the real aftermath of Global Game Jam 2014 is upon us. Since our previous post Dan is awaiting results regarding an official Richter rating for his snoring; Adrian has successfully had his Teemo hat surgically removed and in global news - close friends, Sasquatch and Nessie, have refused to comment on the validity of photographic evidence released of the lesser- spotted ‘smiling’ Michael. Many thanks must go to Windmill Lane Recording Studios, Pulse College and- especially their head of Games and Animation- John Healy, for a well organised weekend. It was an excellent event, one in which we learned so much about game development, about ourselves and about each other. Despite all that we are still communicating, but now most our communication is via squinty and shifty eyed stares. And as for our maiden game jam, we gloriously managed to turn a 48 hour game jam into a 15 hour jam. As mentioned in our previous post our first concept was a tad ambitious, resulting in an Inception approach......a confused first half to the jam, a rather bemusing third quarter and an interesting, but inconclusive, end section in which nobody knows was it a dream or did the girl from Beyond Two Souls really go on to become an amazing architect? Anyway, and this may be somehow linked to sleep deprivation, we are still attempting to contact the Asian business man who turned up, speaking incoherent English, who gave us our first concept for the jam... ....a camera within a camera, within a camera. Seriously, we kid you not! And now we get back to the daily grind of progressing our current workload, and, in addition, seek to place our game jam concept into our work schedule....oh, and let’s not forget our C*ndy (trademark pending!) game concept - in reference to the ridiculous trademark application by mobile games giant Cong.kim I’l su (or some name like that). We’ll describe this game concept in another post in the not too distant future. Much work ahead, but the game jam has given us a nice little boost in confidence! And fyi...we will not be trade marking ‘Circumvolution’! *= a Global Game jam 2014 - Game screen shot Comments are closed.
